Tips For Beginner Runners

I started running five years ago after a period of feeling out of shape and constantly lethargic. Running was something I could do on my lunch break that didn't require any expensive equipment or a gym membership. I suffered a few injuries in the early days due to poor running technique, so I started learning everything I could about proper running form and how to warm up and cool down safely. I now have three marathons under my belt and volunteer at my local running club to help get new runners off to a good start. I started this blog to share what I've learned with new runners, and I hope you find my tips useful.

3 Ways Self-Defence Classes Help You Become Stronger

Troy Murray

Self-defence classes are a great way to learn how to protect yourself from an attacker, but they also help you become stronger in other ways.

Here are three ways that taking self-defence classes can make you stronger:

1. Self-Defence Classes Help You Learn How To Assert Yourself

You might think that all it takes to defend yourself is brute strength and aggression, but in reality, this isn't the case. When you study martial arts, you learn how to defend yourself without hurting your opponent — or even putting them in a position where they can hurt you.

The key is learning how to assert yourself and not allow anyone else to make you feel weak or vulnerable. This includes both physical and psychological strength. You'll learn how to be confident in your own body and how to stand up for yourself when necessary.

2. Self-Defence Classes Help You Overcome Fear

One way to overcome fear is to face it head-on. When we're afraid of something, our bodies naturally tense up to protect us from harm. This is called the "fight or flight" response and it's there for good reason — it's how our ancestors survived back in the day when there were real threats around every corner. But today, we don't need this kind of reaction as often because there aren't many real threats around us anymore (unless you count traffic).

Self-defence classes help train your mind and body to react differently when faced with a situation where someone might try to hurt you. They teach you how to relax when faced with danger so that you don't have to panic and freeze up if something bad happens.

3. Self-Defence Classes Improve Your Physical Health

In the same way that going to the gym helps you become stronger physically, self-defence classes can also help strengthen your body. If you want to learn how to fight off an attacker, then taking martial arts classes is a good idea. These classes will teach you how to use your body in different ways than usual by working on balance and coordination skills. It also improves flexibility and endurance so that if someone tries to grab you or push you down, then they won't be able to do so easily because your body will be strong enough to resist them

Self-defence classes are designed to help you build up your strength, confidence and ability to protect yourself if you ever find yourself in a dangerous situation. There are many benefits of taking self-defence classes, and there are just three reasons why you should consider taking one.
